Terms of Service
The rules for using this website and for WebEngine plans, in plain English.
Effective
The short version
- WebEngine is a VIS Mountain company, for businesses in the United States.
- Plans are month-to-month. No long-term contract. Cancel any time.
- Your first payment is the setup fee, and it covers month one. The monthly fee starts in month two.
- Most managed changes are live within 24 hours. Plans cover everyday changes, not unlimited new builds.
- Your website is yours. If you leave, we hand it over on request.
- Nobody can promise rankings, traffic, AI mentions, leads or revenue, so we don't.
Who we are
WebEngine is a VIS Mountain company. webengine.io and every WebEngine plan are provided by VIS Mountain Marketing & Advertising ("VIS Mountain", "WebEngine", "we" or "us"), 700 Commerce Drive, Ste 500, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
Write to us at info@webengine.io. Our replies come from hub@vismountain.com. That's the WebEngine team.
What these terms cover
These terms apply when you use webengine.io, apply through it, or buy a WebEngine plan. By doing any of those, you agree to them.
Three documents work together: these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Your order (checkout) and your invoices set your plan and your price. If an order says something different from this page, the order wins for that item.
If you accept these terms for a business, you confirm you're allowed to act for it.
Who WebEngine is for
WebEngine works with businesses in the United States only.
To apply or buy a plan, you must be at least 18 and able to act for the business.
Please give us true information. If you enter someone else's details, make sure they expect to hear from us.
Applying is free and doesn't commit you
The application, the strategy call and anything we talk about create no obligation for you or for us. We may decline any application.
Nothing on this website is a quote or an offer. Prices are shown on your order (checkout) and your invoices, not on the website.
Plans and billing
- Plans are month-to-month. There is no long-term contract.
- Your first charge, at checkout, is the one-time setup fee. It covers your first month.
- Your monthly plan fee then bills every month, starting with month two.
- Payments are taken through the VIS Mountain client portal (the Hub, at hub.vismountain.com).
The price you pay is the one on your order and invoices.
How cancelling and refunds work is set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
What a managed plan includes
A managed plan keeps your web engine running: managed hosting with SSL, updates and security patches, and the everyday changes your business needs.
Requests come in 24 hours a day. Open one in the Hub or email it, and every request becomes a tracked ticket.
Most managed changes are live within 24 hours.
Managed means a real team on your site every month — not an unlimited queue. Your plan covers the everyday changes a business needs; bigger projects are scoped with you first, so you always know what you're getting.
In short: plans cover updates and changes, not unlimited new builds or redesigns. A redesign, a large new section or a custom tool counts as a bigger project.
On Managed + Growth plans, Engine Intelligence runs once a month: with your permission, we read your Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools data and use it to plan improvements.
If you cancel
You can cancel any time. Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period. The details are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Web engines are large websites, so they can't simply be switched off and back on. When you cancel your management plan, you choose what happens next:
- Keep it online with hosting-only. Your site stays live for a monthly hosting fee (the amount is on your order or invoice). Hosting-only means hosting and keeping the site online, nothing more: no changes, edits, tickets or support requests.
- Take it with you. Ask, and we'll separate the account so you can host the site yourself or with another provider. The handover is arranged on request.
Updates, change requests (tickets) and ongoing management need an active management plan.
Your website is yours
You keep your website. If you leave, we'll separate the account on request so you can run it yourself or elsewhere.
Some parts of any website come from other companies under their own licences, such as fonts, stock photos or software. Those parts stay under their owners' licence terms.
Services that work alongside your website, like your CRM, Engine Agent, review requests and listings work, are part of your plan rather than part of the website.
Information your website collects from your customers belongs to your business. We handle it only to run your plan.
Your part
- Give us accurate information about your business, and tell us when something changes.
- Give us the access we need, for example to your domain settings or Google Business Profile, and keep your own passwords safe.
- Only send us words, photos and logos you have the right to use.
- You're responsible for what your website says about your business. Tell us if anything is wrong, and make sure your claims are allowed in your line of work.
- Make sure your customers agreed to get texts and emails from your business before your CRM sends them.
We can refuse or remove content on a site we manage if it is illegal, infringing or harmful, and we can end a plan if these terms are seriously broken.
What we can't promise
Google, Bing and AI assistants decide for themselves what they show. Nobody outside those companies controls it.
So we don't guarantee rankings, traffic, mentions by AI assistants, leads or revenue. Results also depend on your market, your offer, your reviews and how quickly your team follows up.
PageSpeed 90+ is a target we test for before launch, not a guarantee. Scores can change after launch as content is added and as Google updates its test.
What we commit to is the work your plan describes.
Security
Engines we host get managed hosting with SSL, updates and security patches, hardened logins, and bot protection on forms. Plugins are vetted before they're installed.
AI guardrails: Engine Agent only answers questions and takes requests. AI that reads emails or forms treats what it reads as information, never as instructions.
No website can be made perfectly secure, and we don't claim otherwise.
Engine Agent
Engine Agent is an automated assistant, and it says so.
It answers questions using information your team approves and takes requests, sending each one to your CRM. It books appointments only when a calendar is connected.
It doesn't send text messages and it doesn't remember customers. Your CRM keeps customer records, and texts are sent by CRM workflows set up with your team.
It doesn't give medical, legal or financial advice.
Using this website
You're welcome to read, share and link to any page here. Please don't:
- send fake, automated or spam applications;
- try to break into this site, our systems or any account connected to them;
- upload anything harmful, like malware;
- scrape the site in a way that slows it down, or copy its design, words or code for your own site;
- use the site to break the law or someone else's rights.
We may limit or block access if we see any of that. Found a security problem? Please tell us at info@webengine.io first.
Names, logos and content
The words, design, graphics and code of webengine.io belong to VIS Mountain or are used under licence.
WebEngine, Engine Agent, Engine Intelligence, Bird Local, Branding Signal and Dash Funnels are VIS Mountain names. Please don't use them as your own, or in a way that suggests we endorse you.
Other companies' names and logos belong to their owners. They show the platforms we work with, not a partnership or endorsement, except where stated (VIS Mountain is a Google Partner).
Limits of our responsibility
This website is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and online, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Pages here are general information, not legal, tax or other professional advice.
As far as the law allows, VIS Mountain isn't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from this website or our services. Some states don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as your state's law permits.
If you break these terms or misuse this site and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover the reasonable cost of that claim.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, where VIS Mountain is based. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Illinois.
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing something once doesn't mean we give up the right later.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when this version took effect, and changes apply from that date.
