Refunds & cancellation
Plans are month-to-month and you can cancel any time. Here's exactly what happens to your billing, and your website, when you do.
Effective
The short version
- Plans are month-to-month. No long-term contract.
- Cancel any time. It takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- Monthly fees: no refunds or credits for partial months.
- The setup fee pays for research and build work. Like every payment under the client agreement you sign at checkout, it is non-refundable.
- After cancelling, keep your site online with hosting-only, or take it with you.
How billing works
- Your first charge, at checkout, is the one-time setup fee. It covers your first month.
- Your monthly plan fee bills every month after that, starting with month two.
- Payments are taken through the VIS Mountain client portal (the Hub, at hub.vismountain.com).
- Prices are shown on your order (checkout) and your invoices, not on this website.
How to cancel
Plans are month-to-month, with no long-term contract. Cancel any time by opening a request in the Hub or emailing info@webengine.io.
Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your plan keeps running until then.
The setup fee covers your first month, so if you cancel during month one, no monthly fee is charged.
Monthly fees
Monthly fees aren't refunded or credited for partial months. If you cancel partway through a billing period, you keep your plan until that period ends.
The setup fee
The setup fee pays for research and build work. Like every payment under the client agreement you sign at checkout, it is non-refundable.
That work (research on your market, the page plan, design and writing) starts at kickoff, within 24 hours of checkout. That's why every business applies and talks with us first, so you know exactly what you're getting before you pay.
Keep your site online: hosting-only
Web engines are large websites. They can't simply be switched off and back on, so when you cancel your management plan you can keep your site online on a hosting-only plan.
Hosting-only has a monthly hosting fee. The amount is shown on your order or invoice. Like every plan, it's month-to-month.

- Updates and ongoing management
Updates, change requests (tickets) and ongoing management need an active management plan.
Or take your website with you
Your website is yours. If you leave, ask and we'll separate the account so you can host it yourself or with another provider.
The handover is arranged with you on request.
Refunds and results
Refunds aren't based on rankings, traffic, AI mentions, leads or revenue. Those depend on Google, Bing, AI assistants and your market, so we never promise them. See our Terms of Service.
