What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Effective

The short version

  • When you apply, we collect your business details, budget, timeline and contact details.
  • We use them to review your application, reply and schedule a call. They go into VIS Mountain's CRM.
  • We only text you if you tick the box. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • We don't sell your personal information.
  • No analytics or ad trackers run on this site. The booking calendar may set its own cookies.
  • Want to see, fix or delete your information? Email info@webengine.io.

Who we are

WebEngine is a VIS Mountain company. VIS Mountain Marketing & Advertising, 700 Commerce Drive, Ste 500, Oak Brook, IL 60523, decides how the information collected on webengine.io is used.

Questions or requests: info@webengine.io. Our replies come from hub@vismountain.com.

What this policy covers

This policy covers webengine.io: the application form, the free website score and the booking calendar.

It doesn't cover the websites we build for clients (each business has its own privacy policy), or information inside a client's CRM, which we handle for that client to run their plan.

What you tell us

When you apply, you tell us:

  • About your business: the type of business, its name, website, city and state, and how many locations it has.
  • What you want: what you'd like fixed and, if you choose to say, what success would look like.
  • Budget and timing: your one-time and monthly budget ranges, when you want to start, and who decides.
  • How to reach you: your name, your role (optional), email, phone (optional), and whether we may text you.

If you ask for a free website score, you give us your website address, your first name and your email, and you can add your business name and phone.

If you book a call, the calendar records the time you pick, your time zone and the details you enter. If you email us, we keep your email and our reply.

What's collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records basic technical details, like IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Spam and location checks. When you send an application, we use your IP address for a moment to stop repeated submissions and to check that you're in the U.S. We save the country, not the IP address, with your application, along with the address of the page you applied from.
  • The booking calendar. If your application is a fit, we show VIS Mountain's online booking calendar inside the page. It loads from VIS Mountain's scheduling system (go.vismountain.com), and the calendar provider may set its own cookies so booking works.

That's all. As of the date above, webengine.io runs no analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies of its own.

How we use it

  • To review your application and see whether a call makes sense.
  • To run the free website score you ask for: we check your website's public home page and its robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt files, measure its speed with Google PageSpeed Insights, and email you the report. A copy of the request and the score goes into VIS Mountain's CRM so our team can follow up about it.
  • To reply, schedule your strategy call and prepare for it. We look at your website and public listings so we come prepared.
  • To follow up by email about your application. You can ask us to stop at any time.
  • To text you about your project, only if you ticked the box.
  • To keep this site secure and free of spam.
  • If you become a client: to run your plan, bill you through the client portal, and keep the records the law requires.

An automatic check of your budget and timing answers decides whether we show the booking calendar straight away. It isn't the final word: if you don't see the calendar, email info@webengine.io and we'll gladly take another look.

Text messages

We only text you about your project if you tick the box that allows it. Consent isn't a condition of purchase.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time.

Texts are sent from VIS Mountain's CRM. We don't share your mobile number or your text consent with anyone for their own marketing.

Please don't send sensitive information

Please don't share sensitive information, like health details, passwords or card numbers, in the application form or the website score form.

Who we share it with

Your application goes into VIS Mountain's CRM (customer relationship system), so our team can review it, reply and schedule a call.

We also use service providers that help run the business: hosting, email delivery, scheduling, Google PageSpeed Insights (which receives only your website address), and payment processing in the client portal. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

We may also share information with our professional advisers, when the law requires it, or as part of a sale or merger of the business. If that happens, this policy keeps applying to it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep an application for as long as the conversation or the client relationship is active, and for a period afterwards so we have a record of what was said. Client records are kept as long as tax, accounting and contract rules require.

Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time.

Want to know the period for a type of record, or want yours deleted now? Ask us. If we don't need to keep it, we'll delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • fix anything that's wrong;
  • delete it, unless the law requires us to keep part of it;
  • stop follow-up emails;
  • reconsider if we say no, and give you the reason in writing.

To stop texts, reply STOP at any time. We won't treat you differently for asking. Depending on your state (California or Texas, for example) you may have more rights, and we use one process for every request from a U.S. resident.

How to ask: email info@webengine.io with "Privacy request" in the subject, from the email address you used. We confirm it's you by matching your details, and we won't ask for an ID for an ordinary request. Someone can ask for you with your signed permission. We reply within the time your state's law allows.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

This site doesn't run advertising or analytics tags, so there's nothing for these browser signals to switch off here. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.

Children

WebEngine is for businesses. This site isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we learn we have, we delete it.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over HTTPS (SSL), runs on managed hosting with security updates, and our forms have bot protection.

No website or database can be made perfectly secure. If a problem ever affects your information, we'll tell you and the right authorities as the law requires.

Where it's handled

WebEngine is a U.S. business and works only with businesses in the United States, so your information is handled under U.S. law and mostly processed in the United States.

Changes and contact

When we change something important, like adding an outside service, we update this page and the date at the top.
